My experience at Dar Mansour was nothing short of magical! I was wandering around the island after sunset and I was lured into the courtyard by the beautiful bamboo gates and flickering of candles inside. The ambiance is like a gentle cocoon welcoming you in a seductive embrace among warm colours, beautiful carpets and poufs, pop art tables and lanterns everywhere. The owner is equally warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a relaxing and joyful dinner. The food is truly Moroccan, with no exceptions or shortcuts. The tagine transported me back to my Marrakesh trip years ago - the flavour and aroma of preserved lemons was the magic touch that transported me in another place and another time. The food was the initial reason for my stop by the restaurant, while the ambiance and the amazing cocktails were the main cause of my pleasant and prolonged lingering in this magic little casbah embracing me with warmth and positive vibes. Thank you Maija and Bruno for this amazing addition to the island!
We had an amazing dinner at Dar Mansour Koh Pha Ngan! The food took us straight back to Morocco — the flavors were authentic, exactly like at home, with recipes passed down from a Moroccan grandmother. Every bite was rich, warm, and full of tradition. The atmosphere was truly special, almost like being inside a desert “space bubble,” giving a magical and cozy feeling. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming — it honestly feels like dining in a friend’s home rather than in a restaurant. If you’re looking for a new experience on the island, this is absolutely the place to be. Highly recommended!
We visited this Moroccan restaurant as a couple and were absolutely delighted! From the warm and welcoming host to the incredible food, everything was perfect. The chicken tajine was an absolute highlight – without a doubt one of the best Moroccan dishes I have ever had in my life. The flavors, the preparation, and the whole atmosphere were simply fantastic. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!
An excellent Moroccan restaurant! The food was delicious and authentic- every dish was a celebration of traditional flavors and heartfelt cooking. Above all, the owner’s warm and generous hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We’ll definitely be back- highly recommended!
I went to Dar Mansour with my girlfriend, and it turned out to be one of our favorite dinners in Koh Phangan. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth by Bruno and Maija, who made us feel like we were visiting old friends rather than just dining out. We started with a selection of four types of msemen, each one freshly made and full of flavor, a perfect way to ease into the meal. Then came the beef and chicken tajines, slow-cooked and richly spiced, with tender meat and incredible depth. The flavors were beautifully balanced and felt genuinely Moroccan, comforting, aromatic, and satisfying. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine, which complemented the food really well. Everything came together in a way that felt thoughtful and personal. Even the dessert, though not traditionally Moroccan, was a nice touch to end the meal. If you’re in Koh Phangan and looking for something authentic and made with love, Dar Mansour is an absolute must.
A restaurant is not only about food, food is indeed the essential drive for me to go out and eat but the experience is what I am really looking forward to. Dar Mansour's music, decor, hospitality, flavours and savours have transported me through space and time and offered me with an unforgettable experience. I strongly advise the Tanjia Marrakchia (to be ordered in advance...5 hours cooking) and the Fez Tajine, melting chicken cooked in home made preserved lemons. But the amazing closure of this experience, because every dream has a closure, comes with Dar Mansour's Kunnuz Chocolate Fondant! As the owner explained to me, Kunnuz means "treasure" and I can assure you, this chocolate fondant is one of Koh Phangan's treasures!!! I still have to come back to this oasis of the five senses to try all their other dishes, especially the Couscous which they serve, as Moroccan tradition wants, every Friday. Don't miss on this voyage
Dar Mansour is a true hidden gem in Koh Phangan. The two owners – a wonderful couple, she of Italian origin with 30 years of life in Morocco, and her partner, French with years spent in China are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They have created a refined yet relaxed space, furnished with impeccable taste. Stepping inside feels like being transported straight into an authentic corner of Morocco, but right here on the island. The garden is beautifully designed, offering a serene and elegant atmosphere that feels sophisticated without being pretentious. The simplicity of the décor enhances the experience, making it the perfect setting to enjoy their outstanding food. And the food is truly the star. Everything is delicious – from the starters to the main dishes. The chicken tagine is a must-try: exquisitely prepared, full of flavor, and on par with the very best you might find even in Morocco itself. Add to this a thoughtful music selection, excellent service, and the genuine charm of the hosts, and you have one of the most memorable dining experiences on the island. A place not to be missed in Koh Phangan!
During our stroll in Koh Phangan, we stumbled upon this Moroccan gem, and it was instantly clear that we had to step inside. We ended up returning for a second meal just because of its captivating ambiance and exquisite decor. The owners and their team are exceptionally professional and genuinely warm, taking care of every detail to ensure a perfect dining experience. Every dish tells its own story, and as a Moroccan-Swiss, I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We spent over three hours there, simply savoring every moment because everything was flawless. The food was absolutely phenomenal! I highly encourage trying as many dishes as possible each one is a delight. We will definitely be coming back. 100% recommended!
